Tips for 6-letter codeword entries
- Among 6-letter words in our dictionary, the most common first letters are S, C, B and the most common last letters are S, E, R.
- The most frequent letters inside 6-letter words are E, A, S, R, I, so they are good first guesses when a square is still empty.
- About 54% of 6-letter words contain a repeated letter. If two squares share a number in your puzzle, put the same digit in both boxes here.
- Knowing just the first and last letter, for example
H....Y, still leaves 60 possible words. Add a letter from the middle to cut that down quickly.
